These terms and conditions apply to the use of New Ireland Online. When you access New Ireland Online you accept these terms and conditions and any amendments that we may make to them from time to time.

Definitions of terms used in this Document

Some explanations of common terms used throughout these terms and conditions:

  • “Policy” means your life assurance or pension contract with New Ireland Assurance Company plc.
  • “we”, “us” and “our” means New Ireland Assurance Company plc.
  • “you” and “your(s)” means the person or persons who are named as Policy holder(s) or a sole member of a pension scheme where trustee consent has been provided.

Use of New Ireland Online

New Ireland Online is provided free of charge by New Ireland Assurance Company plc (New Ireland). By using New Ireland Online at any time, you are accepting, without limitation or qualification, these terms and conditions of use. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use New Ireland Online.

You can register to view a Policy if you are a Policy holder or you are the sole member of a pension scheme where trustee consent has been provided. Any unauthorised access or use is not permitted.

If your Policy is held in the name of two or more persons, any of the Policy holders can avail of New Ireland Online and as a Policy holder you will have access to all Policy related information.

Certain Policies may not be available to register and we reserve the right to decline applications for registration. An email address can only be used once to register for access to New Ireland Online.

If you wish to issue an instruction, request a change be made, have any queries concerning your Policy or require up to date and more detailed information on your Policy, you should contact us directly by calling on our recorded line +353 1 6172801. We may require a written request from you to enable us process your instruction or request and if this is the case you will be advised.

If you have a pension Policy, any protection benefits that may apply to your Policy will not be displayed on New Ireland Online. If you have a unit-linked protection Policy, only the main benefits provided by the Policy will be displayed and any fund value that may exist will not be displayed on New Ireland Online.

Information Provided and Security

While great care is taken when compiling the information provided via New Ireland Online, the information contained on this site is of a general nature only, and should not be considered as conclusive evidence of the state of your Policy or otherwise.

We accept no responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the information displayed on New Ireland Online and we will not compensate you or anyone else for any loss or expense which occurs as a result of any inaccuracy or incompleteness of information displayed. It is important to understand that any Policy details provided are indicative only, and the details provided may not include a full list of benefits available under your Policy, be fully up to date or take account of any recent instructions you may have issued to us.

You accept that:

  • there are certain risks involved in using the internet;
  • accessing and using New Ireland Online is not guaranteed to be free from interference by others and may not be private and confidential; and
  • you access via New Ireland Online at your own risk.

You must keep your passwords and any other security credentials you use to access New Ireland Online secret. You must not write down or record any of them in a way that would let someone else use any of them against your will. Intellectual Property

The information, content, graphics, text, images, buttons, trademarks, trade names and logos on New Ireland Online are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws under national laws and international treaties. You are granted a limited viewing licence only for your own personal, non-commercial use to refer to any page within New Ireland Online. Any other use without our prior written consent is strictly prohibited. You are responsible for all costs incurred by you in accessing and using New Ireland online, for example, any telecommunications and equipment costs.

Changes to these Terms and Conditions

We may add to or change these terms and conditions at any time, for example, to meet new regulatory requirements, to enhance security or where we consider it is in your best interests to do so. Please revisit this page regularly to ensure that you are aware of the current terms as they are binding on you.

If we change or add to these terms and conditions, and you do not wish to accept the change, you may deregister your Policy. We can introduce or make changes to charges for the use of New Ireland Online but, if we do, we will tell you in advance. The amount of notice that we will give you will follow any relevant laws and regulations that apply at that time.

Reading this Document & Access to New Ireland Online

Each term and condition is separate from the others. If any of them is illegal or cannot be enforced, the rest will remain in full force and effect.

If we do not enforce any rights we have under these terms and conditions or we delay enforcing them at any time, we may still enforce those rights in the future.

While we will try to ensure you have access at all times, we may not be able to provide you with access to New Ireland Online at all times because of circumstances beyond our control or otherwise.

Making a Complaint

We want to provide you with excellent customer service at all times. If however you are not happy with the service you receive and you wish to make a complaint, please follow these steps:

  • You can make a complaint by calling +353 1 6172801 or writing to Complaint Management Team, New Ireland Assurance Company plc., 5-9 South Frederick Street, Dublin 2.
  • If we have not resolved your complaint within five working days, we will acknowledge it in writing. If the complaint is not resolved within 20 working days, we will give you a written update. If, after a further 20 working days, we still have not resolved the complaint, we will write to you again to explain the delay and to give you an indication of when we expect to resolve the matter.
  • When we have completed our investigation, we will write to you with the results.
  • If you are not satisfied with how we have dealt with your complaint, you may raise it with the Financial Services Ombudsman, 3rd Floor, Lincoln House, Lincoln Place, Dublin 2. Removal of Access and How Irish law applies to this Document

You may select to deregister a Policy by notifying us in writing or by calling on our recorded line +353 1 6172801.

We reserve the right to deregister a Policy, without providing you with a reason, at any time.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland and the courts of the Republic of Ireland will have exclusive jurisdiction.

These terms and conditions were prepared as at 08/06/2016 do not take into account any legislative or regulatory changes that may have occurred since that time.

If your circumstances have changed or you are considering altering the terms of your Policy, before making any decision, we recommend that you review all options available and seek appropriate financial, insurance, investment or other professional advice to make sure that your Policy and any alteration you intend to make meets your needs.
